Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 2026-06-06
This Privacy Policy describes how Ink & Logic (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares your information when you use our Business Card Assistant mobile application (the “Service”).
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.
- Account Information: When you register using Google Sign-In, we collect your name and email address as provided by Google to create and manage your account.
- Business Card Data: We collect the information you capture or enter from business cards, which may include names, phone numbers, email addresses, company names, job titles, and physical addresses. This also includes the images of the business cards you scan, and any optional notes you enter to assist recognition. Business card images are collected through your device’s camera or photo library, only when you actively choose to scan or select an image.
- Usage Data: We may automatically collect information on how the Service is accessed and used (“Usage Data”). This Usage Data may include information such as your device’s Internet Protocol address (e.g., IP address), device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other diagnostic data. We use Firebase Analytics for this purpose.
- Crash Data: We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect information about crashes and errors that occur while you are using the app to help us identify and fix bugs.
We use the collected data for various purposes:
- To provide, operate, and maintain our Service.
- To recognize and extract contact information from business card images using an AI service, as described in Section 3.
- To manage your account and provide you with customer support.
- To improve the Service, including adding new features and functionality.
- To monitor the usage of our Service and analyze trends.
- To detect, prevent, and address technical issues.
- To notify you about changes to our Service.
3. AI-Powered Business Card Recognition (Google Gemini)
Our core feature uses a third-party artificial intelligence service to recognize business cards. This section explains exactly what is sent, to whom, and how you stay in control.
- What data is sent: When you use the AI scan feature, the business card image(s) you capture or select (front and, if provided, back) and any optional notes you enter are transmitted to the AI service. This data may contain personal information printed on the card, such as names, phone numbers, email addresses, company names, job titles, and addresses.
- Who the data is sent to: The data is sent to Google Gemini, a third-party AI service operated by Google LLC, accessed through Firebase AI. Google processes this data in accordance with its own privacy policy and applicable data processing terms: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Purpose: The data is used solely to automatically recognize and extract the contact information on the business card so that you do not have to type it manually. We do not use this data for advertising, profiling, or any other purpose.
- Your consent: Before any data is sent to the AI service for the first time, the app displays a consent dialog explaining the above. Data is only transmitted after you explicitly agree. If you decline, no data is sent to the AI service, and you can still enter business card information manually.
- Equal protection: Google is contractually obligated to protect data processed through these services and may not use it for purposes other than providing the service. For details, see Google’s Privacy Policy linked above.
4. Third-Party Services
We use third-party services to facilitate our Service, to provide the Service on our behalf, or to assist us in analyzing how our Service is used. These third parties have access to your Personal Information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
- Google Firebase: We use various Firebase services, including Firebase Authentication, Firestore (database), Firebase Analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics. These services help us operate the app, store your data securely, and understand how our app is used. You can review Google’s Privacy Policy here: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Google Gemini (via Firebase AI): Used for AI-powered business card recognition, as described in Section 3.
- Google AdMob: We use Google AdMob to display advertisements in the app. AdMob may collect and use device identifiers (such as the advertising identifier) and usage information to serve ads, subject to your choices in the app tracking permission prompt on iOS. You can review how Google uses this data here: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
5. Data Security
The security of your data is important to us. We use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, such as storing data in secure cloud databases (Firebase Firestore) and transmitting data over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). However, please remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
6. Data Retention
We will retain your Personal Information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, primarily as long as your account is active. Business card images and notes sent to the AI service are used for recognition and are not retained by us beyond what is needed to provide the feature and store your saved cards. You can request to delete your account as specified in the “Your Privacy Rights” section.
7. Your Privacy Rights
You have the right to access, update, or request the deletion of the information we have on you. You may also withdraw your consent to AI-based recognition at any time; in that case you can continue to use the app by entering card information manually. To delete your account and its associated data, please send an email to inklogic.jc@gmail.com. For other modifications, you may be able to manage information directly within your account settings.
8. Children’s Privacy
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13 (“Children”). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Child has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
